The Measures of Effective Teaching Extension (METX) Educators Collection will be available without charge through a secure instance of the University of Michigan MiVideo service. Potential users can request an account for the collection by sending an email to METX-contact@umich.edu. Those eligible for an account include University of Michigan (U-M) students, staff, faculty, retirees, and sponsored affiliates. Individuals external to the University of Michigan can request sponsored affiliate status from an individual or U-M department.

Affirmations

I agree that:

• I will treat those who appear in the videos and other records with thoughtfulness and respect.
• I will ensure I am the only person who uses my account.
• I will prevent videos and other information from being shared or used outside of this site—including prohibiting screenshots, photos, or other reproductions to be made.

I will honor the consent agreements made with those who appear in the videos by:

• Reporting instances where a student’s first and last names are spoken together in a video or other places information is found that might put a student or teacher’s privacy at risk, including instances where private conversations unrelated to the class are heard. (report to METX-contact@umich.edu)
• Not using videos or other records that contain potential privacy issues, including video where private conversations unrelated to the class are heard–particularly if the students and/or teacher seemed unaware they were being recorded.
• Not showing the video content to others unless it is an educational setting—such as a course or workshop—where I will take personal responsibility for the individuals with whom I am working, ensuring their compliance with these agreements.
• Respect copyright notices and any terms of use written on any collection assets.

I understand this agreement only allows me to use the videos and contents for personal viewing and for limited educational purposes and not for research.

I understand that if I use the video session contents for education, I am responsible for helping my learners understand what it means to treat the videos, information in the videos, and people who appear in the videos in respectful and responsible ways.

I understand that the collection contains artifacts and documents submitted by teachers that provide context about their lessons. These materials may be copyrighted by various providers and vendors. The University of Michigan has not obtained any permissions or copyrights from the copyright holders of these materials. These materials are provided so you can reference them as you watch the video. Consult legal counsel if you intend to use them for any purpose other than reference when you watch the video.
